The question I’ve been exploring, How can I best support my clients during difficult economic times—was finally answered after spending time with an Uber driver.
As many of you know, I’ve been advising the owners of micro service businesses (0-5 employees) since 2003, offering individual and group programs in much the same way as others in my field.
However, as I watch our economy falter and hear talk of a potential recession, I couldn’t help but wonder how to best support my clients.
Having weathered three recessions myself, I know how concerning it is to feel like you do not have clear direction. It’s as if the ground under you is moving and it’s hard to find your footing, and all uncertainties are magnified.
It’s time for a new approach. One that is not a one-size-fits-all, but varies based on the needs of the client.
How I can best support my clients? Uber’s model provided the insight I needed.
You know how Uber works: you open the app, request a ride, and pay only for the time needed to reach your destination. No long-term commitments, no unused services—just what you need, when you need it.
That's when it hit me: what if business advice worked the same way?
Because let's face it—business challenges don't operate on a neat monthly schedule. Sometimes you need quick guidance to navigate a specific hurdle. Other times, you need more comprehensive support to tackle bigger issues.
Introducing: Just In Time Business Advice
Here's how it works:
We start with a complimentary 45-minute session to see if we are a fit
You sign a simple agreement (no long-term commitment)
You book only the time you need: 30 minutes to troubleshoot a specific challenge or longer sessions for deeper work
At month's end, you're only invoiced for the time used
Unlike traditional coaching programs that lock you into monthly meetings whether you need them or not, this approach ensures every dollar spent translates directly to addressing your most pressing business challenges, when they arise.
You get my decades of real-world experience, innovative approach, and strong community connections without paying for time you don't need.
My clients consistently report that a single focused session saves them weeks of confusion and tons of potential missteps. Think of this as strategic insurance—an investment that reduces your uncertainty and enables you to take focused action.
And honestly, what is more important right now, during uncertain economic times, than to have solid footing so you are moving forward with confidence.
Think of me as your business GPS—available when you need direction, silent when you don't, but always ready to recalculate when unexpected detours arise.
If you are like my clients, a highly creative and intuitive thinker who provides advisory, coaching, consulting, or design services, you know your work changes lives.
You also know your work has never been more important.
